The Learning Bridges courses have the same sections in each of the classes to allow teachers familiarity with navigation, support, tools, and communication tools. VIDEOS of actual teachers demonstrating the learning are embedded into every course.

They are:
  • Getting Started – An introduction to the sections of the course, the navigation tools, the collaboration and communications tools, the buttons providing a new-to-known comparison with learning online to learning in a face-to-face environment for educators.
  • Course Overview – This section contains the Course Description (includes the declarative and procedural objective to be met, content, and assessment tasks), Syllabus, and the Evaluation Rubric
  • Course Pre-Test – This section is the key that unlocks the rest of the course.
  • Terminology - This section contains the concepts, vocabulary and ideas that are essential to the course. It is followed by a short Terminology Test. (Lesson 1 & 2)
  • Course Content – This section contains Lessons 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

    • Lesson 3 – Impact on Learning - This lesson teaches how to choose a strategy, how much difference in learning it can achieve, and when to use the practice to maximize learning.
    • Lesson 4 – Connection to Brain Research - This lesson teaches how the strategy is brain-compatible. This is often why the strategy works to improve academic achievement for students.
    • Lesson 5 – Connections to Multiple Intelligences - This lesson teaches how to differentiate instruction.
    • Lesson 6 – Modeling and Guided Practice – This lesson teaches the instructional strategy. The strategy is modeled for the learner. Guided practice is provided as well.
    • Lesson 7 – Application in the Classroom – This is the Job Embedding into the workplace. This lesson is completed in the REAL classroom with REAL kids. Teachers use a lesson planning form that contains the critical attributes of the strategy. This is the performance task needed to ensure proficiency of procedural knowledge.

LESSON DESIGN: Includes a Jump Start Your Thinking, Tutorial, Assignment and Learning Log Reflections

  • Reflections/Evaluation – This section contains the Post Test and Final Reflections for the learning. (Lesson 8 and 9 )
  • Resource Center – A resource center provides a complete bibliography for the course, a list of websites for further information and materials, and access to the Online Web Store where teachers can purchase instructional materials linked to the course.
