Aligned Instructional Database
Research-based INSTRUCTION aligned to STANDARDS
The Learning Bridges Aligned Instructional Database (PATENT PENDING) underpins the Learning Bridges System tools. Grounded in the research of Dr. Robert Marzano’s “Theory Based Meta-analysis of Research on Instruction” (McREL 1998), the Learning Bridges researchers...
IDENTIFIED the most effective teaching practices (drawn from 32,000+ research studies)
ALIGNED the teaching practices to the grade level standards (of 49 states) based on 2 criteria:
- The type of knowledge of the grade level standards (e.g., declarative, procedural, or both).
- The type of brain processing required for learning specific knowledge (e.g., information processing, knowledge utilization, storage/retrieval, etc.
RANKED the teaching practices based on their Impact on Learning (based on Effect Size data from research).

Learning Bridges® System Components derived from the Aligned Instructional Database
The 3 KEY PROCESSES of education are: Standards/Curriculum (what we expect students to know and be able to do), Instruction (the strategies chosen to teach the curriculum), and Assessment (measures that a) inform instruction and b) deliver results to indicate how well curriculum was learned by students).
