Getting Started Guide – The opening video leads teachers
through the sections of the class, the use of the virtual tools, the navigation buttons,
and provides “new to known” connections between onsite and online learning.
Toolkit – Provides teachers with graphic organizers,
which the instructor can see, to demonstrate their thinking and learning. Instructors
provide explicit feedback to guide the learning based on the teachers work in using
compare and contrast, mind mapping, synectics, reflections, KWLH, T-charts, etc.
Conference Center – Provides a meeting place
for teachers to share their lesson plans with each other, to provide and receive
explicit feedback from their Online Learning Community, to respond to prompts provided
by the instructor, to collaborate with each other, and to post assignments (which
can include video, powerpoints, word processing documents, student work, etc.)
Learning Log – provides a place for metacognitive
activities and as a place for taking notes on the class as it is in progress. It
can be printed, and it can be sent to the instructor.
Video Help – Provides a place to learn how
to do any task that is ever required in any course. If teachers learn best by having
someone SHOW AND TELL how to do a task, the Video
Help will provide that assistance in 15 seconds or less.
Message Center – Where all PRIVATE
communication, explicit feedback, and messages between the teacher and the instructor
occur in the course with EVERY lesson.
Assignments – Allows teachers to know the LIST
of all assignments required of the course, as well as the STATUS (Submitted, not submitted,
Resubmitted) of each assignment and FEEDBACK (Accepted, Not Accepted).
